Personal Financial Planning Minor
Personal financial planning is a rapidly growing field and a necessary personal skill in today’s complex financial market. The Personal Financial Planning Minor provides students with a cursory overview of the financial planning profession. This minor includes three of the six required courses to sit for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® exam.
Fifteen credits - six hours of core content and nine hours of specified electives - are required to complete the Personal Financial Planning Minor. At least nine credit hours must be completed at Kansas State University. Students must achieve a cumulative 2.50 GPA in the courses counting toward their minor to complete the program.
Enrolling in the Minor
There are no entrance requirements to enroll in the minor. However, several of the individual courses do require a minimum of a 2.5 GPA as part of their prerequisites. You can enroll either through our online form or by visiting Tierra Dimond (Justin 343J) or Jill Parker (Justin 245B) to complete the paper form in person.
