Kansas Insurance Certificate

The Kansas Insurance Certificate is offered by the Personal Financial Planning program in the School of Family Studies and Human Services. The certificate meets the requirements set forth by the Kansas Insurance Department to prepare for the Kansas Insurance License exam.

Program Requirements

Twelve credit hours - nine hours of core content and three hours of specified electives - are required to complete the certificate. Many of these courses must be taken in sequence. For questions regarding course sequences, please contact Tierra Dimond at ipfp@k-state.edu.

Enrolling in the Certificate

There are no entrance requirements to enroll in the certificate program. However, several of the individual courses do require a minimum of a 2.5 GPA as part of their prerequisites. You can enroll either through our online form or by visiting Tierra Dimond (Justin 343J) or Jill Parker (Justin 245B) to complete the paper form in person.

Pairs well with these majors:

  • Finance
  • Professional Strategic Selling
